The Boys section of the Kelly’s Toyota Third and Fourth Year Cup was won by Fintra National School, Killybegs. They played exceptionally well. Speaking on behalf of the Fintra National School, Emma Campbell, Principal said: “Fintra National School is a three-teacher school beautifully situated over Fintra beach, two miles outside Killybegs town.
“We currently have 63 children. The school has been proud of its sporting achievements over the past number of years and were named ‘Best Primary School’ at the Donegal Sports Star Awards 2013. We are proud of our children, who have trained hard to hold on to the title. Sport plays a very important part of school life here at Fintra NS.
“The teachers have come to realise how the potential of the children can be fulfilled through their involvement in the various sporting classes run here in the school. We would like to thank the Finn harps Schools Programme and Kelly’s Toyota, their main sponsor for allowing our children have access to programmes like theirs and for the wonderful chance to participate in yet another Third and Fourth Year Kelly’s Toyota Cup Final”.
We also spoke with the principal of Niall Mór National School, Killybegs who were the proud winners of the Girls Section in the Kelly’s Toyota Third and Fourth Year Cup.

Margaret McHugh, Principal of Niall Mór National School commented: “This year the Niall Mór National School applied for the Active School Programme. This involved improvements in 15 different areas of physical education within the school. From feedback received in a questionnaire completed by the pupils, participation in soccer was one of the areas they said they would like to see developed.
“Based on this, we applied to be included in the Finn harps Schools Programme. John Campbell informed us that we were successful in our application and the school received six weeks of soccer coaching in the first term.
“As part of this our third and fourth year classes participated in the southern boys and girl school blitz. Here the girls were winners and advanced to the county final. Last Thursday, they travelled to the Finn Valley Centre to take part in the county finals, where they emerged as county winners having won all their games.
