Audio: ‘Moral victories’ no good for Finn Harps, says Ryan Curran

RYAN CURRAN has no desire for any more moral victories with Finn Harps.

Ahead of a crunch clash with Bray Wanderers at Finn Park, Curran says Harps must turn the positive performances into points.

On Monday night, Harps put it up to St Patrick’s Athletic, but came away empty handed.

An own goal by Packie Mailey and another goal by Mark Timlin had Liam Buckley’s team 2-0 up. A late Kevin McHugh penalty roused the hosts, who’d played admirably up to that point, but they left without a point.

“It’s a good performance, one of our better ones all season, but it’s all about getting three points, or any sort of points, on the board,” Curran told Donegal Sport Hub.

“You don’t get anything for moral victories. It was positive, though, a good performance. St Pat’s are a top-class side and we dominated for a long spell. We need to take that into Bray.”

Curran struck the goal frame with a superb second-half chance, but the former Derry City striker wasn’t too keen to take any pats on the back.

He said: “We were unlucky. On another night that could have gone six inches lower and it was a goal. We never give up, but we get nothing for that.”
