Audio: Kildrum Tigers player-boss Brown vents anger after controversial draw

KILDRUM TIGERS player-manager Shane Brown took some time to gather his thoughts after a 2-2 draw with Drumoghill FC last night, but what followed was a stinging interview.

Gareth Colhoun’s late brace – turning the tide after David O’Carroll’s opener – looked to have sealed a derby win for Kildrum at The Moss, but a controversial injury-time equaliser by Christopher O’Donnell utterly altered the story.

Kildrum furiously contested the awarding of the corner from which O’Donnell scored and in the late moments also felt they should have had a penalty when a shot by Johnny McGinty appeared to strike a Drumoghill hand.

The referee, Joe McHugh, found himself a lonely figure amid an irate Kildrum circle at the final whistle.

It was around 20 minutes afterwards when a visibly angry Brown appeared.

“There is a bit of a two-tiered system happening,” he blasted.

“I saw things tonight that I’ve never seen in football. There’s a new brand of refereeing in play. I just don’t know how to describe what happened.

“I don’t know how it would stand to other people, but that’s not the right way to have football played.

“We didn’t get any justice at all.”
