CELEBRATING SUCCESS is nothing new for the McLaughlin sisters from Termon, but they added the latest string to their bow yesterday at UCD.

With Geraldine starring for Letterkenny Institute of Technology in their Donaghy Cup final, Nicole played a lead role for St Patrick’s College, Thurles in the Lagan Cup final.

The Termon duo were All-Ireland Senior Club Championship winners with their club in 2014 and Ulster SFC winners with Donegal last summer.

Ace forward Geraldine was in San Diego with the Ladies GFA All-Stars recently and was in scintillating form for LyIT yesterday, scoring a whopping 4-12 in a 4-15 to 3-15 win.

Her sister, Nicole, played for St Patrick’s College, Thurles as they soared to a 4-20 to 2-3 win over Ulster University Magee in the Lagan Cup decider.

Defender Nicole was the recipient of a Women’s Gaelic Players Association scholarship recently. She is studying for a BA in Secondary Education, Business Studies and Religious Studies at St Patrick’s College in Thurles.

The McLaughlins are key figure in the Donegal senior ladies team – they face Cavan in a Lidl NFL Division 2 semi-final the weekend after next.
