BUNDORAN PRODUCED SOME of the form which took them to an Intermediate title last year when they were full value for their five-point win over Dungloe this evening.

Realt na Mara 1-13 Dungloe 1-8

The Seasiders got off to a whirlwind start and led by five points after 10 minutes with points from Alan Russell Shane McGowan, Ciaran McCaughey and two from Michael McEniff.

Dungloe registered their first score from a long range effort from full-back Raymond Sweeney. This was soon added to by Adrian Sweeney to leave it 0-5 to 0-3 for the hosts.

Then in the 16th min Ciaran Sharkey made a fantastic save from McEniff but their good fortune was short lived as from the next attack Jamie Brennan set up Russell to crash home the game’s first goal.

A Brennan point on 22 minutes was immediately cancelled out by an Adrian Sweeney free. Then, from a tight angle, McEniff hit the last point of the half to leave the half-time score Realt na Mara 1-7 Dungloe 0-3.

The home side started brightly again in the second half with McEniff notching the first score. Bundoran should really have had the game out of sight in the 38th minute when a sweeping move saw them with men over but Paul Brennan’s effort was wayward.

Aura Leisure

The men in black and amber were made to pay almost immediately when a somewhat harshly awarded penalty was expertly dispatched by Conor Green.

Darragh Hoey soon replied with a point but it was the visitors who would dominate the next 10 minutes hitting four points without reply from Mark Sweeney, Adam Neely, Conor Green and Ryan Green.

This left the score 1-9 to 1-7 for Bundoran with 10 minutes remaining. McEniff and Brennan steadied the locals cause with well taken points before Mark Sweeney replied for the men in red.
