BRIAN MCGEEHIN GUIDED Donegal to the semi-finals of the Ulster Under-17 League last night following their win over Derry.

Donegal got their second win of the campaign in Group B with a 2-18 to 2-8 victory in Greysteel, which means they are guaranteed a semi-final spot against Monaghan, in Group A.

“We wanted to put the game to bed but Derry got back into it,” McGeehin said. “We just wanted to keep the ball and to play football. Once we got the second goal we were over the line.

“We’re in the semi-finals and that’s what it’s all about – not getting knocked out. The semi-finals will be another day’s work against a Monaghan side who won the Buncrana Cup last year.”
