KEVIN MCFADDEN hailed his Glenea United Reserves after they booked a place in the Voodoo Venue Cup final.

Martin Maguire’s second-half brace gave them a 2-0 win over Strand Rovers at The Diamond Park, firing them into the final against Glencar Celtic.

“They’re a tough team to beat and on semi-final day it’s about getting out of the blocks first,” McFadden said.

Aura Leisure

“They’re dogged and are hard to put away, but we got a wee bit of luck there.

“It’s great to be looking forward to the final.

“The lads played very well all over the field. All in all we’re happy enough and we handled the conditions pretty well.

Gareth Britton All Sports Ireland Euro 2016

“The main thing with us is to bring players through for the first team and it’s about building for the future.”
