Twitter: ‘Be fair shkin and hair flyn if Donegal and Dublin meet later in the year’

TWITTER WAS PRETTY busy last night as Donegal went down to Dublin.

Jim Gavin’s team ran out 1-10 to 0-7 winners at Croke Park and, probably even more so than usual, there was a very diverse reaction to how things panned out. (Please note we’ve noticed the spelling in the headline  – it’s Twitter-spake we hear!)

Here’s some that caught our eye …

Great weekend to be in Dublin. C’mon Donegal. 1916 remembered pic.twitter.com/V2mPYzGkFh

At Croke Park for the Gaelic football to watch Donegal and Dublin physically batter each other pic.twitter.com/URfmDAtNMi

Crucial save by #Dublin goalkeeper, Michael Savage. #Donegal‘s Eoin McHugh slid ball past him..Savage ran back & flicked ball off the line

The whole of croke park stud up at the 5th minute of the dublin vs Donegal game and clapped for the 5 people who passed away?? #respect

This will be a long 70 minutes!#gaa #Dublin #Donegal #NFL #CrokePark

Highland Motors 500x500

That’s where the scores are taken from, so why wouldn’t you load it with bodies? Ballyboden lauded for it last week https://t.co/UWp13c3M7V

Donegal suffered most from the loss of a man – especially when that man was Murphy. No Plan B once Dublin got comfortable #gaa #DUBvDON

Eamon McGee scored. Will note the date, rather than the time.

Donegal’s blanket shredded by Dublin’s tactic of pressing high up the field and converting turnovers into scores. Death of puke footie! #gaa

— Sean McGoldrick (@SeanMcGoldrick1) March 26, 2016

Donegal may not win but they’re giving an exhibition in how to play Dublin. Every other county should watch video about 10 times

— Brian Flanagan (@BHDFlanagan) March 26, 2016

Donegal are ruining my first trip back… What a load of crap…Michael Murphy has hardly got into the Dublin half.

@kierangroarke Dublin know well what happens Donegal play football. You guys seen enough of it in that semi final. pic.twitter.com/LQq7ZuprNz

There’ll be fair shkin and hair flyn if Donegal and Dublin meet later in the year.

— Paul Collins (@paulcollinstipp) March 26, 2016

How much you wanna bet he’ll get away with it? #DUBvDON #EyeGouge #JamesMcCarthy @officialgaa pic.twitter.com/k3WSv02Mnl

— Shaun Coyle (@shaun_coyle) March 26, 2016

Frigid football from Donegal. Dublin have all the aces. On another note, a video still is not enough to incriminate James McCarthy. #GAA

— John Fogarty (@JohnFogartyIrl) March 26, 2016

Jim Gavin should be shown the James McCarthy incident post match rather than more meandering rubbish about a tough game.

Rory Gallagher thinks Michael Murphy gets refereed differently to other players. Unhappy with sending off, particularly 1st yellow #gaa
