Audio: Ryan McHugh says Roscommon loss wasn’t ‘like Donegal’

IN SO MANY ways, it was so unlike Donegal, but there could be no debating that Roscommon left Letterkenny as the deserving winners.

A whirlwind start set the tone and had Roscommon been rather more clinical, it might well have turned into a much more wretched affair for Donegal.

An open and entertaining game – especially in the second half – was the contrary of last week’s brawl in Tralee, although Odhrán Mac Niallais picked up a pair of yellow cards, on after another, in the 54th minute.

“It’s not like Donegal, but sometimes you learn more from defeats,” McHugh told Donegal Sport Hub.

“We’ll have to learn from this. They played us off the park today.

“We came up here to win. We didn’t do that. Roscommon were the better team. We didn’t produce what we expect of Donegal.”
