THE CENTRAL COMPETITIONS CONTROLS COMMITTEE (CCCC) have come down heavy on Donegal and Kerry following the ugly scenes that marred the first half of Sunday’s Allianz Football League clash in Tralee.

The two counties have each been hit with fines of €7,500 while Donegal full-back Neil McGee has been given a one-game ban.

McGee was involved in an incident in the seventh minute that led to Alan Fitzgerald being red carded.

Fitzgerald was sent off after striking McGee, who was shown on TV replays to have pulled the hand of Fitzgerald in an aggressive manner.

Having reviewed the footage of the incident, disciplinary chiefs have slapped McGee with a retrospective one-match ban having found him guilty of a category 3 infraction.

The Gaoth Dobhair man is now set to miss Sunday’s game against Roscommon at O’Donnell Park. No Kerry player has been cited for sanction.

Fitzgerald and Leo McLoone, who was also red carded, have been give automatic one-match suspensions.
