MARK FORKER WAS ‘over the moon’ after Letterkenny Rovers defeated Killester United to reach the FAI Intermediate Cup semi-finals.

Christy Connaghan and Darren McElwaine netted the goals as Rovers scored a 2-1 win.

Forker, a former Heart of Midlothian youth player who has lined out at Finn Harps and Institute, had a storming game in the engine room at Leckview Park.

“We’re over the moon to be in the last four of the Intermediate Cup,” he told Donegal Sport Hub.

“We knew that we had to go back to the drawing board and it paid off.

“We spoke about getting a grip of the game without going gung-ho. We managed the game well.

“We defended well and had a good shape. Overall, we deserved to win the match.”
