LETTERKENNY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY  won the Independent.ie HE Hurling Championship Division 3 All-Ireland final this afternoon in Cork.

Letterkenny Institute of Technology 1-11 Robert Gordon University 2-6

Paddy Lennon’s team overcame Robert Gordon University – the British champions – from Aberdeen in the Padraig MacDiarmada final at Cork Institute of Technology with an excellent defensive performance taking them over the line late on.

With nine minutes to go, LyIT were 1-10 to 1-5 in front with Sean McVeigh having scored eight points.

But Graham pulled a goal back for Robert Gordon University to bring the deficit down to just two.
