STRIKER CODEY BROGAN and goalkeeper Sean Friel were the heroes for Letterkenny Rovers this afternoon in the FAI Youth Cup.Brogan netted the only goal of the game in the 54th minute while a penalty save from Friel soon after proved key as Rovers (pictured above by Stephen Doherty) defeated Mountview Boys from Dublin to reach the last 16 of the competition.

The sides were deadlocked at half-time, but Rovers broke the deadlock nine minutes into the second half with this goal …

Just nine minutes later, Mountview Boys were awarded a penalty when goalkeeper Friel was deemed to have fouled Dean Ivory in the box.

Rovers will play Ballinroad AFC from Waterford in the next round, which is scheduled to be played next Saturday.
