CAOLAN MCGONAGLE HELPED Dublin City University overcome IT Carlow to seal the last semi-final berth in the Independent.ie Sigerson Cup.

The Buncrana midfielder lined out for his side in their 0-14 to 0-7 victory with a stronger second half performance as the score was 0-5 to 0-5 at the break.

Glenswilly’s Philip O’Donnell was substitute goalkeeper and Sean MacCumhaill’s Nathan Gavigan was also among the substitutes.

IT Carlow had St Eunan’s Caolán Ward in their ranks, with James Ferry from Naomh Muire on the bench.

The semi-finals next Friday in Belfast will see DCU take on hosts University of Ulster Jordanstown, while University College Dublin meet University of Limerick.
