Moville club notes – proud day as club hosts Donegal senior ladies

On Sunday past the club had the great honor in hosting the National League game between Donegal Senior ladies and Laois senior ladies.

It was a particular special day for our own Niamh Hegarty who led Donegal out for her first home game as Donegal captain on her home turf.

The club was also were represented by Ciara Hegarty, Niamh Mc Laughlin and Blathnaid McLaughlin.

All four girls contributed with excellent performances and in the end the Donegal ladies ran out comfortable winners in the end and have made a promising start to their league campaign with two wins from two and go on to play Sligo next weekend.

Mark Farren RIP

The club committee and its members would like to offer their sincere deepest condolences to Mark Farren’s wife, family and friends at the very sad passing of Mark last week. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Congratulations

Congratulations to the Donegal senior men who also kept up their 100% record in the league with an impressive win over Cork and now have a few weeks off before taking on Mayo on the 28th of February in Ballybofey.

Ballad Group head to Ulster

Many congratulations to our Ballad group who are representing the club and Donegal at the Scór Ulster semi-final in Glenullen on Saturday February 13th. The club are running a supporters bus for anyone who would like to see a great nights entertainment. If you would like to book a place on the bus please contact Brigid Harkin 087-7554034 by Wednesday Feb 10th.

New Managers:

The club has announced the new ladies and men’s senior’s managers for the year ahead. Jimmy Hegarty has been installed as the senior ladies senior manager and Sean O’ Hare has been appointed as the men’s senior manager.

Training:

The following training sessions are now up and running for various teams:

The u-16 boys training takes place every Monday from 7pm.

Training for u-14 Boys takes place every Friday from 4.30-5.30 new players always welcome and all players who have moved up from Under 12’s are asked to come along.

Our Saturday morning underage training continues every Saturday morning and new faces are always welcome.

Toddlers: 10 to 11am

U6/8 boys and girls : 10 to 11:15,

U10 Boys time 10 to 11:15 while the U10/12 Girls remains 11 to 12.

There will also be an indoor training for u5,6,7,8,10 boys each Wednesday for month of February from 5pm to 6pm in the Greencastle Community Centre.

The men’s senior training takes place every Wednesday at 7:30 and on a Saturday morning at 11:30. New players are always welcome to come along.

No jackpot winner; €50 winner Aishling Harkin, Carnagarve; Next week’s Jackpot is €5,200. Many thanks for your continued support and contributions.

Membership:

Membership for the year is overdue and membership fees are as follows: €5 for U-18, €10 student, €20 single member, €30 family, and €100 family plus lotto. Please contact the registrar for further details.

Only fully paid up members will be eligible for Donegal match tickets in the event there is a demand for tickets sourced through the club.
