Letterkenny Gaels notes – Well done to those who participated in Scór

IN MÓR AN trua nar iarraidh leis an Ghrúpa Baileád nó le Méabh Ni Chathail san Amhránaíocht Aonair sa Chómortas Scór Sinsir a bhí ar siúil i nGleann tSúilí Dé hAoine seo caite.

The Ballad Group consisting of Geraldine Hanley, Deirdre Uí Dhochartaigh, Katrina Patton, Méabh Ní Chathail and Eimear Kelly standing in for Bernie Frain sang beautifully, performing a lively version of “Óro sé do bheatha bhaile” and a haunting arrangement of “She moved through the fair”.

Méabh sang “Coinleach Glas an Fhomhair” for the solo ballad. The judge paid compliment to the sweetness of all their voices. Both the Ballad Group and Méabh in the solo ballad came second in their categories – something to be very proud of at County level and suggesting that there is a lot of potential in these women to do even better next year.

Is mór an éacht atá déanta ag Gaeil Leitir Ceanainn i mbliana maidir le Scór na nÓg agus Scór Sinsir ach fan go bhfeicfidh sibh cad é a dhéanfaidh muidinne an bhliain seo chugainn!

A well attended Underage Football Presentation evening took place at the weekend at the Club Room. Thanks to Donegal Ladies Footballers Karen Guthrie and Grainne Houston for helping out with the presentations.

The underage football training resumes again this Friday night  (5th February) and will run for 6 weeks until Friday March 11th 2016.  We will then take a break for a few weeks (over Easter) and move outside to Pairc na nGael after Easter.

Under 6 ( 2010 or later) training starts on Friday 5th February at 6:00pm (until 6:45pm)  in the Gym Hall at Woodland National School. Under 8 (born 2008, 2009) and under 10 (born 2006, 2007) training will also resume in the Aura Leisure Centre on Friday the 5th February from 7:30pm to 8:30pm.

New members welcome.
