How did you go? Here’s the final points table for the Daly’s XL 3 Race Series

THE FINAL OVERALL positions for the Daly’s XL 3 Race Series have been totted and interestingly, the winning times in the men’s were only one second apart over the course of the three races.

The overall winners of the event – which is run by Lifford-Strabane AC – were Martin Cox  and Amy McDaid from Derry Track Club. In all, 514 unique athletes took part in the Series with 186 taking part in all three.

Cox was the winner of Sunday’s final race, in Lifford, in  in 15 minutes and 51 seconds. Beforehand, Keith Shiels led home the 300-strong field in 15 minutes and 52 seconds in Carrigans. Then, in Raphoe, Mark Hoy of Finn Valley ran 15 minutes and 52 seconds as well, to win.

In the women’s events, Hannah McGowan from Derry Track Club was the first woman to finish. Her time was 19:01 in Lifford. The Raphoe staging was saw Letterkenny AtC’s Natasha Adams as the first woman home in a time of 17:26. And in Carrigans, it was McDaid who was victorious in 20:46.
