THE QUESTIONS WERE answered at the Finn Valley Centre yesterday evening as the finalists in the ‘Donegal’s fastest kids’ competed over 20 metres – gauged by speed gates.

There was noise aplenty and for many it was an introduction to athletics. The winners Vereada Bashar from Scoil Mhuire Gan Scoil, Letterkenny. who clocked 3.03 seconds and David Geoghegan – in 3.17 seconds – from Scoil Naoimh Croine, Dungloe, were in tip-top form .

In close proximity on the clock in girls were Emily Kelly, St Mary’s, Stranorlar and Ava Crawford, St Mary’s, Castlefin, both on 3.31 seconds.

In the boys Caolan McFadden – 3.20 seconds- from Scoil Mhuire, Creeslough, and Jack Boyle McGlinchey from St Mary’s, Castlefinn, got 3.25, as did Dean Leeper, Dooish.

The outright winners now proceed to Athlone IT Arena for national final Saturday 11 am.
