Finn Harps add Sean Houston to their ranks ahead of Premier Division assault

FINN HARPS HAVE confirmed the signing of Sean Houston ahead of the new SSE Airtricity League Premier Division season.

It’s the Letterkenny native’s second spell at the Ballybofey club, having played in 2009 before joining UCD on a scholarship, where he made one first-team appearance before moving to Bray Wanderers.

Since then Houston had two separate spells at Derry City, joining in 2012 and 2014 having been released in-between.

The 25-year-old joins Ryan McConnell and Ryan Curran as additions to Harps’ promotion-winning squad, while manager Ollie Horgan has also re-signed 12 of those players from last season.

“I think everyone at Finn Park will be very pleased Sean is returning to the club,” Harps manager Ollie Horgan told the club’s website.

“He has gathered considerable experience at Premier level since he was last here so Sean will have a good idea of what challenges lie ahead for us this season.

“We still have work to do on the recruitment side of things but Sean coming on board is another step in the right direction.”

Harps open the Premier Division campaign with a home fixture against Derry City on Friday, March 4.
