Audio: Mac Niallais says Donegal ‘have to put things right’ in 2016

ODHRÁN MAC NIALLAIS says Donegal ‘have to put things right’ in 2016.

Mac Niallais was Man of the Match in this afternoon’s loss to St Mary’s College after kicking six points, but the Gaoth Dobhair man knows there’ll be bigger fish to fry this year.

Donegal relinquished their Ulster title against Monaghan last July and limped out of the All-Ireland race against Mayo – but will be hopeful of getting among the prizes again this year.

“This is a big year for Donegal after the loss in the Ulster final and against Mayo last year – we have to put things right,” he told Donegal Sport Hub.

Mac Niallais made his own mark in the Donegal side in the Dr McKenna Cup and is delighted to see the new kids on the block doing likewise.

He said: “The best way is to throw them in at the deep end and get the good, competitive games. They’ll get plenty of experience and it’s good for Rory if they put questions in his head.”
