TWITTER WENT INTO overdrive following Ballyboden St Enda’s victory in the AIB Leinster Club SFC yesterday.
Donegal goalkeeper Paul Durcan played a crucial part in the success of the Dublin champions, as they defeated Portlaoise in Tullamore 2-11 to 1-9.
The former Four Masters netminder has been commuting from Doha, Qatar, to line out for St Enda’s, having only touched down in Dublin airport on Friday.
“Only for Paul Durcan, we could have been in real trouble,” Andy McEntee, the Ballyboden manager said afterwards.

Few more eight hour flights for Paul Durcan in the Spring. — Kieran Cunningham (@KCsixtyseven) December 6, 2015
Durcan would have pulled off that save countless times as a young lad up around Knocklyn no doubt… — Cormac O’Malley (@cormacpro) December 6, 2015
Such a painful defeat for Portlaoise but Ballyboden showed true grit. Durcan’s save from McCormack critical. One of the games of the year. — Mark Gallagher (@bailemg) December 6, 2015
Paul Durcan on another level so far! Making disguising kick outs look foolishly easy! — Kevin Campbell (@Kevin_Cam_90) December 6, 2015
