ARDARA WERE LAST night awarded the title of the Club Ground Awards of the Ulster GAA President Awards.

The Pearse Park outfit were the Donegal club winners and then won the provincial award having beaten off competition from Watty Grahams (Derry), Inniskeen (Monaghan), McQuillans Ballycastle (Antrim), Atticall (Down), Butlersbridge (Cavan), Silverbridge (Armagh), St Theresa’s Loughmacrory (Tyrone) and Brookeborough (Fermanagh).

Twelve months ago, Ardara won the Ulster Club Maith Award – Governance at the 2014 awards at the Hilton Hotel Templepatrick, Co Antrim.

In 2015, Ardara hosted the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta on June Bank Holiday but due to inclement weather the finals of the competition had to be played on October Bank Holiday Saturday, with Naomh Conaill winning the senior title for the first time.

This awards ceremony recognises the Players, Administrators, Coaches, Officials, Referees, and Team Managements for the significant contribution they make to the GAA. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of the GAA and are the very heartbeat of our communities. All the award winners represent the many more who also carry on this valuable work across the nine Ulster counties.

The Ulster GAA President’s Awards are a way of highlighting the achievements of some of our special and significant contributors to the Association in Ulster.

Ardara were presented with their award by the President of the Ulster Council Martin McAviney.
