ATHLETICS IRELAND HAS announced the National Throws squads for the upcoming season with three Donegal athletes on board.
The squads will get together on three separate days of training at various centres throughout the country.
The first squad day will be on Saturday, December 5 in Tullamore Harriers from 10am to 4pm. This will only be for the hammer and javelin groups with Lifford AC’s Brendan O’Donnell, a hammer thrower, participating.
On the following weekend, December 12 and 13, discus and shot put groups will have the opportunity to listen to Vesteinn Hafsteinsson, who is the coach of Olympic discus champion Gerd Kanter.
Finn Valley AC brothers John and James from St Johnston (pictured above by Kieran Carlin) are part of the shot put team.
