Two Donegal punchers make exit from National Senior Cadets


Donegal boxers Liam McMonagle and Ryan Ward-Mulrine lost out last night in preliminary round bouts at the National Senior Cadet Championships.

At The National Stadium, Raphoe ABC’s McMonagle lost out to Killian Geraghty from Crumlin at 57kgs while Convoy ABC man Ward-Mulrine was beaten by Two Castles boxer Tiarnan Mayse at 63kgs.

Next weekend, Raphoe duo Eoin McGarrell (50kgs) and Tom Doherty (81kgs) will be in semi-final action.

Two Donegal men are already into finals on July 28. Paddy McShane of Letterkenny will be in the 39kgs final while Joe Harkin, also of Letterkenny, will be in the 44kgs decider.
