IT’S A FAR trek from Pearse Park in Ardara to Gaelic Park in the Bronx but that’s what lies ahead for Leo McLoone tonight.

The 2012 All-Ireland winner wore the colours of his club Naomh Conaill from Glenties in their 2-13 to 0-15 win over Killybegs in the quarter-final of the Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure Donegal SFC this evening in Ardara.

Tonight McLoone will make the trip to the Big Apple where he will line out for Donegal New York – who he has been playing for this summer –  in the Senior Championship final against Monaghan, which throws in at 3pm Eastern Time.

Tonight McLoone played 13 minutes against Killybegs and his team will go into the hat tomorrow evening for the semi-finals of the Donegal SFC with St Michael’s and the winners of the other last eight ties tomorrow, with Kilcar facing Bundoran and St Eunan’s in action against Gaoth Dobhair.
