JP McManus has donated €100,000 to every county board in Ireland to distribute among GAA clubs.
The Limerick multi-millionaire will give €3.2m to counties to give to their local clubs.
McManus sent a letter to each county board outlining that the money is for the development of GAA across the country.
The donation has been welcomed at local level by Donegal GAA county board chairman, Mick McGrath.
With the money to be distributed evenly among clubs, it will mean a €2,500 windfall for each of Donegal’s 40 GAA clubs.
JP McManus is renowned for his amazing acts of generosity.
He has been a long-time sponsor of the Limerick senior hurling team and helped the team celebrate this year when they won the All-Ireland.
