Seamus Coleman says Everton are gunning for Europa League qualification after yesterday’s destruction of Manchester United.
Everton hammered United 4-0 as Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lucas Digne and Theo Walcott gave the Toffees their biggest win over the Red Devils since 1984.
The win puts Everton into seventh, a Europa League berth.
“I want to play in Europe,” Coleman insisted.
“For us, it’s chasing that seventh place. People complain it effects your league form, but for me that’s nonsense.
“You want to play in the Europa League and play in every competition possible.”
Everton were rocked by a defeat to Fulham last weekend, but they hit back in style with a sizzling display.
Coleman says that Marco Silva’s players have been feeding off Goddison Park’s raucous din.
The Killybegs man said: “I think the Goodison atmosphere has helped us. They’ve made it a tough place to come.
“Teams don’t like coming here and we want to keep that going on for the rest of the season and next season as well.
“It’s been great. We were disappointed with last weekend against Fulham. Our home form has been very good recently.
“We thought that we could get a result today, possibly not by that margin.
“I thought we played well. We’re very happy with our performance. We have great quality throughout the squad. The lads were very good today.”.Tags:
