Bernie O’Callaghan to act as NTO at World Championships


KILLYBEGS man Bernie O’Callaghan, the chairperson of the Donegal Athletics Board, will act as an NTO, a technical officer, at the London World Athletics Championships in August.O’Callaghan received an invitation this week from Chris Cohen, Competition Director of this year’s World Athletics Championships to act as an NTO at the walks due to be held on The Mall.

Bernie is a former international athlete and national champion indeed is currently very active coaching young javelin throwers at Finn Valley  ac and this is indeed a signal honour as normally only host country officials are in engaged in this prestigious position .

Its a fitting acknowledgment of a former athlete current official /coach as the former army officer has been involved in athletics a lifetime indeed was a founding member of Donegal athletics board with Patsy McGonagle, the late Ben O’Donnell and PJ O’Carlin .
